Welcome

Welcome to the portfolio web site of Thomas R. (Tom) Davis formerly of Houston, Texas and now residing at Sundown Farms in Mobile, Alabama. My career specialized in services to the public infrastructure industry, business improvement districts, professional service providers and those that serve in those markets.

69aerialThroughout my 40+ years of experience, I was very fortunate to serve in the completion and turnover of many unique projects. They were in a wide range of markets but share commonalities. In most cases, they involved multi-prime design consultants; multi-prime contractors; multi-funding agencies; and the majority were built as part of a multi-year, multi-project program.

Cotswold-Prairie-300pThe projects ranged from small to very large treatment facilities; renovation of interior finishes of the older two terminals at Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH); $120M remediation of a Superfund site; $84M reconstruction of Houston’s downtown streets; leading the renovation of a new satellite fine arts museum by a non-profit; and retired from an eight-year position as Special Projects Manager in the Mayor’s Office of the City of Houston.

Given that an improvement has no value until it is successfully put in service, I prefer to think of the services as “project delivery” rather than just project management. The focus is on delivery–not just management.

As a “side-line” and stemming from the needs for project communication I have developed, implemented and maintained internet sites and email blasts to communicate with project’s stakeholders.  I built this site and those in the Links menu on this page plus many others.

Several of those sites are about sharing what was learned during and after the project execution. If something you see here or in the other sites spurs questions then please email me. A good day is when a college student emails needing more info for their paper or thesis.

Please browse these pages and contact me. I am very thankful to God, my family, and my Country for these opportunities.
